What are Hubpages Accolades?

Updated on August 28, 2011

Hubpages Accolades

So what are hub pages accolades you ask? They are achievement badges that appear on your profile. Some of these are a milestone that you accomplished or involves other people in which you get awarded. They are a great way of seeing how you are doing and also to see what others have accomplished. These do not necessarily mean you get more traffic or anything, but it's a good feature here on hub pages. Don't worry if you don't get them them right away when your first start out here on hub pages though. You will eventually get them if you contribute to the community and consistently write hubs that have pretty good content.

MEMBERSHIP ACCOLADE

This is not an accolade you can get right off the bat. This indicates how long you have been a member of hub pages. You get the accolade when you have been a member for at least one year. Then each year the number will change of course.

PUBLICATION OF HUBS ACCOLADE

David 470 has published at least 50 hubs. This obviously indicates that I have achieved a certain quantity of hubs and have been rewarded a badge for it. You get your badge when you publish 10 then the number moves up at certain milestones. Please however, do not write low quality below standard hubs just to try to get this accolade higher. This is something that will come with time.

FOLLOWERS ACCOLADE

This accolade can mean a lot. The more followers you have means that many people are coming back to your hubs reading and perhaps enjoying them. This has nothing to do with traffic outside of hub pages though. Some people may not have a lot of followers, but may be getting a lot of traffic outside of hub pages. The more various content you have and the more you contribute can gain you more followers. This accolade is something you do not directly control, but producing high quality hubs and contributing in hub pages may get you more followers. You will get the badge having at least 100 followers.

ANSWERING QUESTIONS ACCOLADE

This accolade is gained by answering a specific number of questions here on hub pages. Please however, try and provide good answers the best of your ability and don't spam answers just to get an accolade. Hub pages is a community for people to help each other not spam each other.

ASKING QUESTIONS ACCOLADE

The exact opposite of answering questions of course. Just make sure you don't keep asking questions one after another. A few is fine then wait a while cause other community users are asking as well. Ask appropriate questions.

VIEWS ACCOLADE

David 470's hubs have been read over 1000 times. Now this more directly relates to traffic, but keep in mind the views on hub pages may not match the views your adsense reports says. The fact is that web crawlers come to your pages so some views on hub pages are not page impressions. This accolade will continue to go up if you succeed in getting good organic traffic from search engines. Some really big hubbers have over 1,000,000 views! Hard work and consistency can get you there one day. I hope to achieve such success myself eventually.

FEEDBACK ACCOLADE

David 470 is popular among readers, as measured by there feedback to their hubs. When someone gives you feedback such as useful, funny, awesome, or beautiful that is how you acquire this badge. When you get a certain amount you will get this accolade. Depending on the quality of your content will depend on feedback you get. A hub about pretty girls may get beautiful while a more informative hub will get useful.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION ACCOLADE

David 470 contributes to the community by helping our new users in the forums, voting and/or flagging inappropriate content for our moderators. If you see hubs that are low quality or inappropriate you can flag it. Also when you vote whether you thought that hub you read was up to standard vote it up or down. This is how you gain this badge.

ENGAGING HUBS

David 470 writes particular engaging hubs which readers love to read from start to finish. This is something gained by writing quality content and content that is not to advertising. If your readers find your hubs interesting then this will eventually be acquired.

POSTING COMMENTS

When you write comments to other members of hub pages. Just remember do not spam peoples hubs just to try and get this. Also try and avoid comments like good hub. Try and write a comment that's a bit longer and insightful. I mean it does not have to be huge just try and keep those over used comments like "good hub" or "great hub" to a minimum.

STARTS GREAT DISCUSSIONS IN COMMENTS SECTION

This is when people leave comments on your hubs and when you reply back. There is no direct way to reply back, but its a good idea to comment on your hub if they ask you a question or provide a specific comment about something.
