Hubpages Participation in community
69Hubpages community
Hubpages is a great site for someone that likes to write or would like to try and develop passive income. There are many ways to be active on the Hubpages website. It has a huge community and members are continuing to increase. Hubpages has the questions section, forums, comments section, polls, and all kind of features. The forums are one of the biggest places to go for help on here. You can find help there if your new to Hubpages. The forums also have different categories to talk about things outside of the site like religion, politics, and many other things. Sometimes those topics can be a bit controversial though. The relationship ones can be too, but not quite as much as the religion and politics ones. Try and keep everything in the forums calm cause those topics are pretty controversial so be a bit careful. Hubpages, in my opinion, has a great interface and I love it!
If you would like to get more traffic to your hubs then be active in the community. This is vital for getting your name out there. Being active on here does not necessarily mean you are going to get organic traffic outside of this site, but it will help your author score. You want to at least have an author score of 75. The reason for this is because having lower that that means a no follow in the search engines eyes. You want to have at least a score over 75. It is called do follow if its above 75 and you will get organic traffic from places like google, yahoo, and etc. Don't worry if your score is below 75 cause when your first start out it will be low. Everyone has to start somewhere right? The contents below will explain how to have good Hubpages Participation. This will help author score by being active
BE ACTIVE IN THE FORUMS!
As mentioned early the forums are a great place for any new hubber or experienced hubber. This is a great way to learn new things from other people and perhaps help others. Just make sure you do not use any of your hubs for "self promotion" as this is not allowed. It is against the rules on hubpages. Also be sure to use the appropriate forum when posting a topic. There are forums for hubpages help and other forums just to hangout and discuss things. Being active in the forums can be very helpful. A lot of experienced hubbers can help you.
*Use the forums to your advantage cause any hubber who is new or even experienced can always learn something new. I have learned from the forums and will continue to do so.
ANSWERS SECTION!
The answers section can be almost be as great as the forums. You can find answer to your questions by either searching or asking a question yourself. Participate in answering questions. Just make sure you don't just put any question down to try and get an accolade. Others are here to help so you should help only if you have good input on there question. When you ask a question sometimes it will come up with related questions so check that before posting. Do not spam a bunch of questions all the time. Its okay to ask a few questions, but do not constantly ask them cause many other hubbers are asking to. Of course the same goes for answering as mentioned. Only answer if you think you have some good input.
LEAVE COMMENTS !
Leaving comments is another great way of being active here in hubpages. If you read someones hub and you enjoy it why not leave a comment? Try and avoid the generic comments like "nice hub" or "good hub". There is nothing wrong with these, but are often overused. If possible write something about the hub they wrote or tell them why you liked it or something along those lines. Do not spam the comments section by constantly saying nice hub or something. Spamming is not very nice and is not allowed on here. If you yourself writes a hub and someone comments its good to answer back. You can not directly reply, but can comment on your own hub as a reply. They may come back to it and see you replied. This is a common courtesy and a lot of great discussions start on the comments sections.
PUBLISH MORE HUBS!
Obviously publishing more hubs is being active on hubpages. This is what hubpages is designed for to write hubs! The more hubs you write the greater chances of hubbers seeing your hubs. You can also gather more traffic from the search engines. When writing hubs try and make sure you have a minimum of 500 words. Some hubs will have 1000+. Many will say "content is king". This is true for the most part, but not every article you write has to be over 1000. 500 words should be at least what you should have.
When writing hubs be sure they are not copied content. The content should be your own original content. Also make sure it does not go against hubpage pages rules or Google Adsense.
All these things outlined in this article will help your author score and help you succeed on hubpages. Participating in everything mentioned here is a great way to learn new things and get your name out there! Hubpages is a growing community that I personally love! I think the layout for the site is great and you can learn quite a lot! In conclusion, be active and participate in hubpages as much as you can, but do not be a spammer. Nobody likes a spammer!

This is great, exactly what I have been looking for. My author score is a 69 and I have 81 hub karma. Do these two numbers relate to each other, or are they completely separate? Thanks for explaining that being active in the community is important.
Very useful information but I can't understand following section....
"You want to at least have an author score of 75. The reason for this is because having lower that that means a no follow in the search engines eyes. You want to have at least a score over 75. It is called do follow if its above 75 and you will get organic traffic from places like google, yahoo, and etc. .....
Is it means if we have 75 or more author score we get special SERP ?
Is this officially confirmed by Hubpages.com?
Thanks
I'm kinda new and my hubscore seems pretty low when i see everyone else is over 90. Looks like it really needs effort on those points you mentioned to keep up the score.
Great. I have just joined and I will try not to ask too many questions!
I created a hub this morning and the links are nofollow. In the early afternoon, I checked them again and they became dofollow. 2 hours later (now), they are nofollow again. Why? Is it addon working mistake?
I've been so busy learning everything, it didn't dawn on me to check the forum;when ever I have a question I search for a hub and usually find my answer, albeit it could be dated info. Great reminder to check the forum for relevant and most of all current info. Thanks.
